FLEXIBLE FUNDS GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES
Katelyn Bryant-Comstock – 1/16/2009
Special Service and Support Funds (SSSF) allow members of the Interagency Child Serving Team (ICST) to access resources for individual services to meet the unique needs of children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and their families. These funds are an opportunity to provide for services and supports, as may be necessary and appropriate, in providing for the comprehensive needs with respect to the mental health of children with serious emotional disturbance and their families. The availability of SSSF allows the ISCT to be innovative in their efforts to integrate children and their families into the community and to consider nontraditional interventions. These funds provide a mechanism to help in new and creative ways and strengthen services to children and families. Funds may be used to purchase individualized services or “wraparound” supports for children and adolescents in the target population.
